NEW: Delicious (and Expensive) BBQ Sauce From Japan
At first we thought it might be a mistake, when we heard the price, but no it's a genuine price. And the product is in limited supply according to our Japanese wholesaler, so it's likely made in small batches. This is new stock just arrived from Japan.

It's called Yakiniku No Tara Amakara. Use this to marinade meat of your choice (we tried it with chicken first, then halibut). After marinating in a small amount of the sauce for 2 hours, we grilled the chicken breast on medium heat, as shown below. Then the sauce is served in a side dish for dipping.

The flavor is a real treat. Subtle hint of chile spice, with sesame, salty soy sauce, and an elegant fragrance. It's worth the high price just to try it once. We know you'll like it.

Packed in a nice glass bottle with a clever plastic lid that also serves as a pouring spout. Ingredients: soy sauce (skimmed soybean, soybean, wheat, salt), sugar, water, soybean paste (soybean, rice, salt), invert sugar, dextrin, red pepper, sesame seed oil, fermented seasoning (alcohol, salt, rice), garlic, cooking wine (glutinous rice, malted rice, alcohol, sugar), sesame seed, black pepper, msg. Product of Japan.

Fresh Turmeric
For the first time this year we are pleased to offer fresh turmeric. This herb is revered for it's well-known beneficial health properties, and our feature southern-Thai soup features fresh turmeric as the prominent ingredient.

Turmeric has a wonderful earthy aroma, beautiful natural color, and mild flavor. Our turmeric is grown in Jamaica. We will ship you 3 oz (picture at left is 3 oz) via Priority Mail which is a 2-3 day service. Supply is limited right now but we expect to ship all new orders immediately.

Checkout with UPS Ground and we'll upgrade it to expedited 2 day at no extra charge.

Ready-made Green Curry, Aroy-D
We introduced Aroy-D red curry a few weeks ago, followed by Tom Yum, then Massaman. Customers have told us how much they like Aroy-D instant Thai soups. Now we have the final choice--green curry flavor.

Green has a very authentic flavor, with an enormously sharp chile heat that really bites. Nothing is held back to make this friendly for non-Thai palates, it's a true Thai green curry with all the spicy flavor you'd find in Thailand. It will make you sweat, but this high heat is also good for your blood flow and acts to stimulate the brain. We recommend serving in a dish, with fresh jasmine rice on the side. Goes great with cold beer also.

Each can of green curry soup has everything you need to enjoy an authentic Thai meal, including some whole chiles and sliced bamboo shoots. It's simply "heat and serve" but there are instructions on the can. Add chicken (or shrimp) if you prefer, during the cooking process.

Ingredients: coconut milk, water, bamboo shoot strip, soybean oil, green curry paste (green chile, shallot, lemongrass, salt, garlic, galangal, kaffir lime peel, cumin powder, coriander seed, turmeric), sugar, basil leaves, red chile, salt, kaffir lime leaves. No preservatives. Product of Thailand.
Wheat Free and Organic Soy Sauce
Regular, naturally-brewed soy sauce (such as our Healthy Boy) contains wheat. As more people are allergic to wheat, we've had a steady request for wheat-free (tamari) soy sauce.

This tamari soy sauce is made in Salem Oregon by very high quality producer Yamasa. It is certified organic and wheat free.

While we prefer the full taste of Thai soy sauce, those with wheat allergy will appreciate this alternative. We find the taste bold, fresh, and salty. Lacks the sweetness of a Thai soy sauce.

Packaged in an attractive glass bottle with pour spout lid. Ingredients: water, organic soy beans, salt, organic alcohol (to retain freshness). Product of USA.

Feature Ingredient: Sesame Oil
Lately it seems that the flavor or sesame oil is found in a lot of trendy salad dressings and dipping sauces. We just received a shipment of extremely high quality sesame oil from Japan. It's generally known that Japanese sesame oil is the best in terms of flavor and overall quality--you can't go wrong this this.

This amber, aromatic oil is pressed from toasted white sesame seeds and has strong, rich nutty flavor. It is used as a flavoring in many Asian dishes and is not used for frying.

Special Offer: Pho Beef Flavor Paste
This paste is very popular with our customers, and we just got a new shipment from Thailand. It was manufactured less than 6 weeks ago. The flavor is rich, and the paste is nice and soft. We are discounting the price for our newsletter readers.

A simple way to enjoy an exotic, full-flavored noodle soup. Your friends will wonder how you could possibly make something so good. Simply add 1 tablespoon of this paste to 3 cups water. Bring to a high simmer. Separately, boil soaked chantaboon rice stick noodles for a minute or two, until tender. Then add the noodles a bowl, cover with thinly-sliced beef, and pour over the hot soup broth. Season with fresh lime, bean sprouts and fresh cilantro if you prefer. Fresh Thai basil (or other seasonal basil) is a wonderful addition also.

From customer Christine in Gaithersburg MD. I am a real fan of the Pho paste...I can't image ever trying to make the real thing myself, but this is so darn close, especially if you through some star anise in while it is simmering...I have bought it for friends who are huge, but finicky Pho fans and they too have been pretty impressed.

Ingredients: Onion, soybean oil, salt, garlic, water, sugar, beef flavor, ginger, cinnamon, sweet basil leaves, star anise, msg, citric acid. Product of Thailand.

For years one of our most popular items is the solid granite mortar and pestle. Carved from a single block of extremely dense, hard granite, they are famous for being a great big large size.

Some customers have requested a smaller granite mortar & pestle, so here we have just received a shipment of small ones. Made of the same high quality granite.

This is brand new, a size we've never sold before. We are offering them for a few dollars less than what the actual price will be, when they are added to our main website.

RECIPE CONTEST ENDS TOMORROW (March 3):

We've offered fresh kaffir lime leaves for years, and now for the first time we can offer kaffir lime leaf powder. This is fresh harvest, just picked and dried a few weeks ago. The powder retains all of the aroma and flavor of the fresh leaves.

We discovered that kaffir lime leaf powder adds wonderful flavor to all sorts of non-Thai recipes, such as bread, pasta, meatballs, it's even a very popular way of flavoring vodka.
