NEW Design. Solid Granite Mortar & Pestle.
We just received a new shipment of our designer-style square mortar & pestles, and they now come in an attractive color box designed by a very expensive British retailer. This makes our solid granite mortar & pestle a nice idea for your kitchen as well as a gift for someone who might like to cook.
This is the same super-dense, attractive solid dark granite as our traditional round mortar & pestle, machined to a precise 6" square block. The mortar is 2.5" tall and has a 1.5 cup capacity, pestle is 6" long with a nice taper, and the top half of the pestle has a granite polish applied to it which gives the look of it having two colors. Complements any countertop, with an elegant style.
The bottom, sides and top are all perfectly smooth, and the inner bowl is machined smooth as glass. It works great as a natural grinder for all kinds of herbs & spices, and it would be a very nice gift particularly for someone who has granite countertops. Based on appearance alone, it looks like it's worth far more than $30 or $40. We've seen something similar in an art gallery for $150.

Special Offer: Palm Sugar
In Thai recipes as well as recipes throughout Southeast Asia, palm sugar is used as a natural sweetener, with a delicate rich sweet flavor. Our palm sugar is the best you can find anywhere, as we import from a premium producer in western Thailand, where the natural sap is collected from cut sugar palms and boiled until a nice sticky sugar remains.
The natural sugar is poured directly into little cakes and packaged for easy use. It can be also eaten as candy. Consistency is firm but slightly soft, making it more simple to use than the inferior rock hard palm sugar some are selling. You get 8 small cakes, simply shave off what you need with a knife or use a hand grater, and it dissolves nicely in the cooking process.
Use with curries, gourmet dishes, sauces, and various desserts. See examples of Thai recipes using palm sugar. Elle Magazine recommends ImportFood.com for "sexy" palm sugar. Product of Thailand. We also offer coconut sugar.
