Last week we introduced the 10" sharkfin clay pot, and now we have a slightly smaller version with a finer finish. The glaze is premium quality, thicker and higher gloss. Overall appearance has a much finer finish. You get three pieces--the pot, lid, and a beautiful plate that it sits on. Unlike the 10" size, the 8" is glazed underneath the pot. The lid has nicer finish work as you can see in the photos, the lid has a higher dome, and it seats perfectly on the rim. The pot is 8" across the top, the domed lid is 6.75" across, the handle is 3" long, and the pot has a 3 cup capacity. Thick sides and solid overall quality. Limited Edition Square Mortar and Pestle
The same super-dense, attractive solid dark granite machined to a precise 6" square block. The mortar is 2.5" tall and has a 1.5 cup capacity, pestle is 6" long with a nice taper, and the top half of the pestle has a granite polish applied to it which gives the look of it having two colors. Complements any countertop, with an elegant style. The bottom, sides and top are all perfectly smooth, and the inner bowl is machined smooth as glass. It works great as a natural grinder for all kinds of herbs & spices, and it would be a very nice gift particularly for someone who has granite countertops. Thai Street Vendor Steel Wok
For years we've sold a sturdy, modern, carbon-steel flat-bottom wok made in Taiwan that's perfect for American kitchens, but since we started our Thai Street Vendor Video Series many customers have asked us to offer a wok identical to the sidewalk chefs. Here it is: the same wok Thai street vendors use. You can see it in action here. The steel is 16 guage (1/16" thick), fairly light, which is just right for constant use because it get's hot easy and it's not too heavy to handle all day. It's a round-bottom wok, the beechwood hand sets at a nice upward angle. 14" across the top which is the most common size.
