coconut sugar

Coconut Sugar, 16 oz package

$3.59

In Thai recipes as well as recipes throughout Southeast Asia, both palm sugar (which comes from the sugar palm) and coconut sugar (made from the coconut palm) is used as a natural sweetener. Both are fairly similar in taste and appearance, although some cooks prefer coconut sugar for certain recipes. Our coconut sugar is very fresh, fairly soft and adds wonderful flavor in cooking. It can also be enjoyed as a natural candy. Packed as a round "cake" (see pictures). The sugar dissolves quickly as you cook with it. Use with curries, gourmet dishes, sauces, and various desserts. Below are just some examples from our recipe index that use palm sugar or coconut sugar. For a different twist try using coconut sugar. Product of Thailand.
