It worries me that they put sizzling hot food with oil into plastic bags. Isn't that a major health risk, having the chemicals from the plastic in the food? Why don't people who want their food 'to go' bring their own containers? I've never been to Thailand, but am hoping to go one day. Is this common practice among all food vendors, and would they allow people to bring their own bowls, etc.?

It is common for people headed home from work especially in the cities to take their food like this in plastic bags .. most young people do not have extensive kitchens in their apartments so consume food when they arrive home. Often they cook rice and add the vendor food as the ingredients.
