Thai fish platter w/ keep-warm base, aluminum, 16"
Add to cart$38.95 Heavy duty, attractive way to serve steamed fish. The base and fish platter are aluminum, and there's an iron grill set in the middle that holds charcoal, sterno fuel, or for simplicity we placed three tealight candles which kept the fish warm.
Start by slicing green onion and fresh ginger, then fresh Thai chilli pepper as shown below. Place on top of your fish (we used a tilapia) and steam. Our stacked steamer works great. Get it to a rolling boil and your fish will be cooked in about 5 minutes.
Separately, fry garlic in vegetable oil and add a bit of sliced yellow onion, about 1 tablespoon Golden Mountain Sauce, 1 tablespoon water, a dash of sugar, and 1/2 fresh Thai chilli pepper. Bring this to a boil. Move your steamed fish to the platter, then pour this liquid over the fish. You can add a bit more water if you prefer (we did). You can put your fish platter carefully over a stovetop to get it to steam, or just move it over to the platter base over lit candles.
Serve with jasmine rice.
Found in restaurants throughout Thailand serving whole fresh fish, this makes for a wonderful presentation.
This will provide years of enjoyment. Consists of three pieces. The fish platter (16" long), the base, and inside the base is a grill/plate to hold the sterno.
