Thai Recipe Update / ImportFood
Today we feature Por Kwan chilli paste with sweet basil and holy basil, Aroy-D massaman soup cans, red curry soup cans, and more. Aroy-D baby corn is brand new stock and on sale too.
Por Kwan - Thai Holy Basil - Sweet Basil Set
Our popular Thai chilli pastes that we've sold since starting ImportFood.com in 1999. Reliable staples with a wide range of uses.
Packed carefully and shipped quickly.
A fragrant, all natural, delicious mix of spicy Thai chili peppers and basil leaves. The chiles have high heat, so just a tablespoon will really make you sweat, but the heat is balanced by the rich aroma of sweet or holy basil.
New Stock: Ready-made Massaman Soup, 16 oz can
Each can of massaman soup has everything you need to enjoy an authentic Thai meal, including potato. It's simply "heat and serve" but there are instructions on the can.
Add thinly-sliced beef (as we did, see picture below) or chicken if you prefer.
Hoisin Sauce, Koon Chun brand, 15 oz jar
A classic Chinese dipping sauce from Hong Kong, and often used with Thai-inspired dishes. Koon Chun brand is one preferred by chefs--it's a very good quality product.
Hoisin sauce leading flavors are fermented soybeans, sugar, garlic, chiles and vinegar.
We love serving Hoisin along with Pho Beef Soup (see recipe).
Packed in a glass jar. Ingredients: sugar, soyabean paste, water, salt, wheat flour, garlic, sesame seed, chile, spices & artificial color.
Product of Hong Kong.
On Sale $1 Off: Thai Baby Corn, 15 oz can
Brand new stock, very high quality and at a great price.
Tender baby corn is new crop, always crispy, and it tastes so good. Just pop it in your mouth fresh or add to your favorite stir-fry.
Packed by Aroy-D which is well known for the very best quality canned vegetables in Thailand. In each can you get about 30 baby corns, they are about 6 inches long. Ingredients: baby corn, water, salt, citric acid.
Product of Thailand.
New Stock: Thai Red Curry, 14 oz can
Ready to eat from the can if you simply reheat it, but we really improved the taste (see pictures below). Fry a bit of finely-chopped fresh lemongrass in a pan with onion and vegetable oil, then add some chicken & cook. Then we poured in the red curry soup can, two fresh Thai chilli peppers, and served with fresh Thai basil and jasmine rice.
Spicy Thai Fish Cakes, 'Tod Man Pla' - Recipe
Tod man pla is one of the most famous Thai dishes but seems to be rarely offered on the menus of Thai restaurants in the United States. We're happy to show you how to make it, step-by-step, with great results.
Here we just used cod pieces which can found at local supermarkets.
