Great new recipe this week for a basic Thai Hot Pot and we've imported the unique aluminum pot so you can cook and serve it in style. Tiparos, Squid and Shark Medium are back in stock.
Thai Hot Pot - Mixed Seafood with Recipe
Heavy duty aluminum hot pot with round lower chamber, flared top, and light weight lid.
Made in Thailand and often used by street vendors to prepare a nice large single serving. Noodles are commonly prepared in the hot pot, or something like a seafood mix as we prepared here.
Thai Fish Platter w/Keep Warm Base
Heavy duty, attractive way to serve steamed fish. The base and fish platter are aluminum, and there's an iron grill set in the middle that holds charcoal, sterno fuel, or for simplicity we placed three tealight candles which kept the fish warm.
Start by slicing green onion and fresh ginger, then fresh Thai chilli pepper as shown below. Place on top of your fish (we used a tilapia) and steam. Our stacked steamer works great. Get it to a rolling boil and your fish will be cooked in about 5 minutes.
Back in Stock: Tiparos Fish Sauce
Tiparos is back after a fairly long period of not shipping to the US due to various reasons, and we are very happy to offer it again.
We sold the famous plastic Tiparos bottle for 15 years. This was one of the top selling Thai fish sauces in America and was widely used in restaurants.
Tiparos has a street appeal, being the familiar fish sauce served throughout Thailand as an everyday pedestrian favorite.
Back in Stock: Squid Fish Sauce
Squid brand is well-known in Thailand as a 'premium', more expensive and more delicious fish sauce that also has a nice and strong flavor.
Some people like a more 'bold' fish flavor, the characteristic of Squid. Squid brand has not just a stronger flavor, but also a nicely muted fish smell.
Large glass bottle has been hard to keep in stock, and we just got a few cases.
Back in Stock: Lays Grilled Prawn and Seafood
This was the first Lays Thailand potato chip we got last year, and it sold out quick. We just got another shipment and don't expect it to last long.
Lays Thailand consistently adds unique flavors to the classic potato chip, often tourists love them and add a few bags to their suitcase because there's no distribution of these flavors outside of Thailand.
We just got a fresh shipment of Lays Thailand '2 in 1', a brand new flavor also called grilled prawn and seafood sauce.
Back in Stock: Thai Mangosteen, Aroy-D
Mangosteen from Aroy-D has been very difficult to get, sometimes we have to wait two years until the harvest is adequate to put them in cans. It's a very expensive fruit and known to have health benefits.
Flavor is elegant, silky consistency, and not overly sweet.
