Thai Recipe & Fried Chilli Update / ImportFood

Bell and Flower brand chilli paste just sent us a nice new batch of their high quality Thai Fried Chilli Paste, and we have a spicy delicious recipe to share using it.  Aroy-D Massaman Soup has been difficult to keep in stock mainly due to short supply from Aroy-D but we just got more last week and highly recommend it. Thanks for watching our updates - and please have a great day!

Thai Fried Chili Paste, Bells & Flower brand

The hottest chile peppers in Thailand are dried and roasted, pounded into a paste and mixed with garlic, shallot and oil. That's all there is to this paste, and it really packs a punch.

Dab it over steamed jasmine rice for a quick snack, put it in any soup, especially Tom Yum for which this was made.

Notice in our Tom Yum Street Vendor Video she is adding this mixture to the soup, making the chile flavor strong and deep.

Shipping Bells & Flower Brand as shown.

Ingredients: chile, garlic, red onion, vegetable oil. All natural.

Product of Thailand.

Thai Recipe: Fried Chilli Paste w/ Rice Flake

Boil the rice flake for about 3 minutes then drain and set aside. Then fry a bit of sliced yellow onion in oil, add some sliced beef and shrimp and cook. Add rice flake to the frying pan then add seasonal greens such green beans and spring onion. At this point you can add some soy sauce if you like. We added just a 1/2 teaspoon of fried chilli paste which greatly improved the flavor.

Thai Recipe: Baby Corn Stir Fry

In this recipe we share the important simple tricks so you can do it all in your own kitchen quickly. Adding tapioca starch at the end ties the flavors together and gives it an elegant finish glaze.

1/2 Teaspoon of Fried Chilli Paste at the end fills the dish with flavor

Back in Stock: Ready-made Massaman Soup, Aroy-D, 16 oz can

This has been difficult to keep in stock mainly due to short supply from Aroy-D but we just got more last week and highly recommend it.

Each can of massaman soup has everything you need to enjoy an authentic Thai meal, including potato. It's simply "heat and serve" but there are instructions on the can.

Add thinly-sliced beef (as we did, see pictures) or chicken if you prefer. Serve with jasmine rice.

To improve the taste, we fried a bit of finely-chopped fresh lemongrass in a pan with onion and vegetable oil, then added the sliced beef to cook. Then we added that back into the massaman with a few dozen whole black peppercorn and served with fresh green onion. See picture below.

Ingredients: coconut milk, bamboo shoots, masaman curry paste (onion, salt, galangal, chili, lemongrass, coriander, garlic, cumin, nutmeg, kaffir lime peel, pepper, cardamom), potato, sugar, salt, modified corn starch, caramel color. No preservatives. Product of Thailand.

Lobo brand, Satay Seasoning Mix

Make authentic, delicious Thai satay (peanut) sauce with this high quality product. Simply mix with coconut milk. A convenient envelope packet, enough to make one large serving.

Inside the package are two small sealed foil envelopes. The first one is the marinade powder, empty it into a bowl with a pound of chicken, 2 tablespoons of coconut milk, a bit of vegetable oil, mix and let marinade for an hour.

The other envelope is for the satay sauce. Mix that with coconut milk and heat over medium heat until thoroughly mixed.
