Brand New Stock: Ready-made Massaman Soup, 16 oz can
Each can of massaman soup has everything you need to enjoy an authentic Thai meal, including potato. It's simply "heat and serve" but there are instructions on the can.
Add thinly-sliced beef (as we did, see picture below) or chicken if you prefer. Serve with jasmine rice.
To improve the taste, we fried a bit of finely-chopped fresh lemongrass in a pan with onion and vegetable oil, then added the sliced beef to cook. Then we added that back into the massaman with a few dozen whole black peppercorn and served with fresh green onion.
Brand New Stock: Ready-made Red Soup, 16 oz can
Very tasty and quick. Spicy too, not overwhelming, but this has good chile heat.
Ready to eat from the can if you simply reheat it, but we really improved the taste. Fry a bit of finely-chopped fresh lemongrass in a pan with onion and vegetable oil, then add some chicken & cook. Then we poured in the red curry soup can, two fresh Thai chilli peppers, and served with fresh Thai basil and jasmine rice.
Back in Stock: Sambal Oelek, Kokita
Sambal oelek can be used to heat up anything you desire, such as soups or spring rolls, pizza, whatever you like to heat up. This is made with pure red chile peppers which are hot very but also have a hint of fresh sweet flavor.
Ingredients: red chile, tomato, salt. Product of Indonesia.
Thai sticky rice (sweet rice) 5 lbs
Thai Sticky Rice (also known as "sweet rice" or "glutinous rice") is a tasty, sweet rice that does a great job of filling the stomach--but be careful not to eat too much... According to Thai tradition sticky rice can put you fast asleep if more than a couple handfuls are eaten. It is meant to be formed into small balls that you make with your fingers. Then dip it in spicy sauce and let it soak up like a sponge.
