Thai Recipe Update / ImportFood
Hello again and thanks for visiting our weekly blog -- we just got new Shing Shang fish snack (spicy), our Mae Pranom chilli paste is on sale, and Aroy-D sliced bamboo shoots are fresh & ready to make the authentic recipe we're featuring today. Thai Mangosteen is back in stock too. Thanks and have a great weekend.
Sliced bamboo (Nor Mai in Thai) is found in many different Thai recipes, and our favorite bamboo is the little matchstick strips like we offer here from Aroy-D.
All Natural, Ingredients: Bamboo shoot 52%, water.
The 20 oz can is a fairly large quantity so use generously.
Thai Noodle Bamboo Shoot Stir Fry
his recipe combines the unique flavor and crispy texture of matchstick bamboo shoots, baby corn and noodles in a stir-fry with oyster sauce. Essential Asian dish you may not have thought you could create at home.
Back in Stock: Shing Shang Fish Snack, Spicy, 5.95 oz jar
A very popular snack among our Thai and non-Thai customers.
This is the 'Spicy' version which is still fairly mild.
Prik Pao - Roasted Chili in Oil - Mae Pranom Brand
Great deal this week.
Prik Pao (or "namprik pao") is legendary in Thailand and has been a staple in Thai households for generations. This is a cooked chile paste with a variety of uses, and it's the key ingredient in tom yum.
For a quick and delicous spicy meal, simply set one tablespoon prik pao in a small dish. Next to that, a bowl of steamed jasmine rice. Now put a little steamed vegetable on top of the rice, add a dab of prik pao, and take a bite. Wonderful flavor.
Back in Stock: Thai Mangosteen, 20 oz can
Mangosteen has been very difficult to get, sometimes we have to wait two years until the harvest is adequate to put them in cans. It's a very expensive fruit and known to have health benefits.
Flavor is elegant, silky consistency, and not overly sweet.
